MANUAL HANDLING The Manual Handling Operations Regulations place a duty on employers to make necessary arrangements and put in place measures to enable employees avoid the need to undertake manual handling tasks. Where this is not reasonably practicable employers should reduce the risk of injury to their employees from manual handling operations. Where manual handling operations cannot be avoided, the regulations also impose on employers a duty to carry out an assessment of any such operations which involve the risk of an injury and provide relevant employees with information on the safe handling of loads. |
